Tiered Weighing BeamsWhen you need to read three different beams to get your weights, it can be a real pain if they're in front of one another. This triple beam balance was designed with beams that stair step for easy readings...the beams are even notched to keep your weight readings in place.

Stainless Steel PlatformThis beam scale has a durable stainless steel weighing platform to make cleanup a breeze. Unlike gold or silver, stainless steel doesn't scratch easily and keeps its shine without rusting or tarnishing.

Magnetic DampingYou don't have to worry about this balance bouncing around taking forever to stabilize. Adam was smart with this 3 beam and designed it with a magnetic damping system to make weighing and reading your weights quick and painless.

3 YEAR MANUFACTURER'S WARRANTY!When you get one of these triple beam balances, you need to go over to the Adam Equipment website and register it to receive a three year warranty.

Question

Can the readout on the beam scales be in grains? Don't want to convert. I prefer the mechanical scale over the digital.

Its a $70 scale. Expect what you pay for

You get what you pay for. Using calibration weights I have found this scale is moderately accurate. That being said, its accurate for a $70 scale. So maybe a few grams off. I wouldn't use this for anything scientific. It does just what I need it to do at a cheap price. I got sick of digital scales breaking. Although there is something strange going on with mine where it wont zero out. If I fiddle with the linkage on the bottom then it behaves as expected. I use this scale primarily for checking the weight delta of what I'm working with. I'm just looking for a change one way or the other. I'm not looking for the exact value. If you're looking to determine the weight of an object I really wouldn't put my trust in this scale. I do not and will not use this scale to weigh anything where I want to be sure of the actual weight. Just know that if you want an accurate scale you will have to pay for it. That's why they cost so much money. For my purposes it does what I need it to do.

Apparrenly, from reading the manual, this scale can actually weigh up to 2600 grams with (optional?) counter weights. Wish I had known that when I purchased - I definately would have ordered them

The scale arrived with a defective pitman arm that connects the tray to the main frame. The hole in the arm was punched thru the end and the arm hung down, the tray was not supported, and therefore the scale could not be used. Fortunately, I can repair unusual things and I made a new piece and installed it rather than deal with sending the scale back. Its hard to understand how this defect could possible slip by any quality control inspection???
