Programmable Auto-Off Feature You can stack up to three of the Newton balances for neat, compact storage...perfect for schools and other places tight on space.
Programmable Backlight If you've ever had your scale turn off on ya in the middle of important measurements, you'll realize what a blessing this feature is. You can program the Newton balances to turn off automatically, or to stay on until you turn them off yourself.
Hinged Protective Windscreen You can even program the backlight for the EJ123. If ya work in dim environments, you can set the backlight to always on, or to turn on when ya press a button or change the weight on the scale. If ya don't really need a backlight, just set it to off. No unnecessary power use here.
Tare Feature The tare button on the front of this digital scale can be pressed to "zero out" the weight on the scale. You can then add more weight, and the display will only show the weight of the item you're adding. This sure is useful when ya want to use a separate weighing container or get the weights of separate items.
Stainless Steel Platform This compact digital scale has a durable stainless steel weighing platform to make cleanup a breeze. Unlike gold or silver, stainless steel doesn't scratch easily and keeps its shine without rusting or tarnishing. This scale's platform is perfect for weighing smaller items. Use it as a jewelry scale for weighing small gems and jewelry pieces, or as a counting scale for pharmaceutical measurements... the uses are endless!
Easy Calibration You'll have no problem at all calibrating this portable balance. You'll just need to pick up a 100 gram calibration weight to get the job done.
Checkweighing Feature Make sure ya get your weights just right with this portable balance's checkweighing feature. When ya weigh in this mode, you can set weight limits for the stuff you're weighing. So, if your sample weight is too low, too high, or just right...the Newton will sure let ya know.
Does This Thing Count? You bet it does! All ya need to do is weigh a sample amount of pieces, so the EJ123 can know how much each piece weighs, then start counting. You'll be finished in no time.
Easy To Clean, Sealed Keypad You won't have to worry about dust and dirt getting stuck under and around this scale's buttons...The A&D Newton has an easy to clean membrane keypad with accurately labeled keys for easy weighing.
Liquid Level Indicator This very handy feature helps you quickly and easily get your scale nice and level. A level scale is important for getting the most accurate weight readings.
Percent Weighing This feature will let ya compare the weights of your samples against a predetermined reference weight. This can be helpful in weight checking, compounding, formulating and more.
5 YEAR MANUFACTURER'S WARRANTY! This compact balance is covered with a 5 year warranty from A&D Weighing against defects in material and workmanship.
Great Scale. Does everything I need it to do.Reviewed by: John Bass from Whitney, Texas on (3/26/2015)
I had previously bought the Gem250. Don't waste your time with that one. This model however does fit the bill for my reloading needs. Weighs down to 0.02 grains. Weighing my H-4831sc powder means you can weigh down to an individual kernel for precise powder charges. If you want to shoot accurately @ long ranges you need this scale.Reviewed by: Bill from Boise, Idaho on (3/18/2015)
Was not satisfied with my first scale purchase, I spoke with Brandon and explained to him my needs for reloading and he recommended the A&D EJ-123. Although more expensive than the first I was willing if the scale worked as he stated. Let me say it is great, easy to calibrate, stays on zero and I can weigh individual grains of powder. No matter where I place the pan on the scale head it weighs the same and does not bounce back and forth. Once I obtain my desired weight I don't have to raise and lower the pan to verify it is accurate. Couldn't be happier thanks once again for the advise and outstanding product.Reviewed by: Ed Shelley from NC on (11/26/2014)
When I ordered this scale I asked if it came with an NIST traceable cert of calibration. The sales person said that they did not because they were supplied by serial number so once I received the scale, I just needed to let them know what it was and the cert of calibration could be provided at no additional charge. When I called to get it, the person I spoke with did not seem to know what I was talking about. When I tried to convey it, I thought they got it, but what I was sent was a cert of compliance saying it was manufactured IAW ISO9001 and ISO13485. My question is: how do you sell scales and not know what a cert of calibration is? As a result of this, I have not been able to use the scale at all, it is still stuck in my Quality Department, awaiting a calibration certificate.Reviewed by: Patrick Lane from Tucson, AZ on (7/14/2014)
Questions and Answers
A: Hey there George,
No, the EJ-123 does not come with a calibration weight.
A: Hey there George,
The biggest difference between the two scales is the resolution. The EJ-120 has a 120 gram maximum capacity with a 0.01 gram resolution. The EJ-123, however, has the same capacity at 120 grams, but the resolution is 0.001 grams. Basically, the EJ-123 is a bit more precise than the EJ-120, warranting the price difference.
A: Hey there Marshall,
Yes, the EJ-123 is a strain gauge scale. It does not, however, offer magnetic force restoration.
A: Hey there Jimmy,
As long as you are operating in Stream Mode, the scale will continuously send data. The connection type is apparently irrelevant. i.e. RS232 vs USB Information on Stream mode can be found in the online manual in section 9.2 and on pgs. 23 & 25. Verified by A&D technical support.
