Product Details

It Has WeighMeter™ Technology! If ya put too much weight, (more than the capacity of the scale) on any scale it can cause permanent damage. Unfortunately, most scales warn ya of an overload after it's too late. Luckily this Jennings scale comes with WeighMeter Technology to tell ya when you're coming close to the maximum capacity. This will save ya from overloading your scale and damaging it beyond repair.

The Protective Cover Does Double Duty! This scale's unique hinged removable protective cover is great for keeping your scale safe when ya aren't using it...and it doubles as a nice expansion tray, increasing the area ya have to weigh your stuff on. Since it has edges, you can weigh all kinds of things that might normally roll right off the platform.

Tare Feature The tare button on the front of this digital jewelry scale can be pressed to "zero out" the weight on the scale. You can then add more weight, and the display will only show the weight of the items you're adding. This sure is useful when ya want to use the cover as an expansion tray to weigh your things, or if ya want to get separate weights of multiple items.

It Remembers The Last Unit Ya Used If your application needs weights in the same unit of measurement, (like ounces for instance), it can be a real pain if your scale always turns on ready to weigh in grams. It's a good thing the JSR50 turns on displaying the unit of measurement you were using when ya turned it off.

Does This Thing Count? You bet it does! All ya need to do is weigh a sample amount of pieces, so the scale can know how much each piece weighs, then start counting. You'll be finished in no time.

Stainless Steel Platform This digital pocket scale has a stainless steel weighing platform to make cleanup a breeze. The edge of the platform has a small lip clear around the perimeter of the scale, which helps keep items you're weighing from rolling off the platform. We have a bunch of customers who weigh beads and other small objects, and they just love this feature.

Bright Backlit Display This digital mini scale has a fancy red, backlit display to help ya see your weight readings, even in dim lighting.

Easy Calibration This scale comes factory calibrated and ready to use. Just in case ya need to calibrate it, the JSR-50 comes with easy to follow calibration instructions. You'll just need to pick up a 50 gram calibration weight to get the job done.

Kill Those Vibrations With VibraKill® Did ya know that vibrations can cause a scale's reading to bounce around from one weight to another? Included with this mini scale is a VibraKill® Pad to keep vibrations, (caused by everyday items like, your fridge, nearby music, your washing machine, etc...) from messing up your weighing.

Man, This Thing Is Small! You won't have to worry about this little digi scale taking up space. It's just under five inches long, and less than an inch thick! You can take this scale pretty much anywhere ya want...stick it in a pack, purse, or in your shirt pocket.

Auto-Off Feature If ya have ever had the batteries in something run out because you forgot to turn it off, you'll realize what a blessing this feature is. The JSR50 will automatically turn off after a few moments of inactivity, saving battery power and money.

2 YEAR MANUFACTURER'S WARRANTY! If ya have a problem with this scale, just send it to Jennings' warranty center in Phoenix, Arizona. They'll fix or replace your scale and send it on its way back to ya within a week of receiving it. You should expect your replacement to arrive in about two to three weeks from the day you send the original off. Keep in mind that sometimes Jennings runs out of stock, which can cause a delay in the warranty replacement process.

I got this for weighing loose tea for the perfect cup.
I also use it to measure grain weights of bullets, casings and powder charges while I'm hand loading match grade ammunition... and drinking that perfect cup of tea!

This scale replaces my old Jennings JSR-50 which worked flawlessly for the past 7 years. The old one was still working flawlessly, the only reason I had to replace the it is because I accidentally left it in the garbage.

As Good as the old JS-50XV, except no programmable Auto Off

I bought this as a backup for my JS-50XV. After receiving it from Old WillKnott"s, I fired it up for some side by side comparisons between the JS-50XV and the JSR-50. At first, there was about a .4 to .6 grain difference using various small objects. However I used the 50 gram weight I had received with my old JS-50XV and done a calibration on both the JS-50XV and the JSR-50. After the calibrations, both scales were spot on, right down to .1 of a grain as advertised. The JSR-50 is as accurate as the old JS-50XV, and it requires only 2 AAA batteries, whereas the JS-50XV required 3 AAA batteries. The new JSR-50 does NOT include a 50 gram calibration weight like the JS-50XV did. Also on the JSR-50, you cannot turn the Auto Off feature on and off like you could on the JS-50XV. So in a nutshell, the JSR-50 is as good of a scale as the old JS-50XV, and it runs on one less battery. Just does not come with calibration weight or programmable Auto Off.

Great Tea Scale!

I got mine from OWK 6+ years ago. I've used it almost every day to weigh my tea. Never a problem and I only replaced the batteries once or twice. I checked it with the weight and it always read 50.00 except once I got 50.01. I guess I should wipe the dust off my calibration weight every 5 years or so!

My own particular use for this scale is weighing coffee beans for espresso, usually 17 grams. This scale is almost perfect. It's small, so it doesn't take up too much precious counter spac. It's reasonably priced and plenty accurate enough for my needs; I can measure to the point where the last coffee bean makes a measurable difference. It's important to keep as many variables as possible constant when making espresso and the amount of coffee used is one of them. My old scale purported to measure to .1 gram, but I could drop several coffee beans on the scale before it gave a different readout. I like that the cover on this scale can be removed if I choose. The only thing that bugs me is that the feet under the scale are inset more than the on/off button which is located at the outside right edge of the top. As a result, when you push that button to turn the scale on, the scale tips down on the right and lifts up on the left -- it annoys me every time. But this scale has so many positive attributes that I am going to buy a second one for another location.

JScale JSR-50 Precision and Accuracy

I purchased this scale for weighing gun powder. I checked the accuracy and precision of this scale by taking 10 measurements of two accurately measured weights; 2.4970g and 5.0135g. The JScale measured 2.51g and 5.03g respectively with 0.0% variation. I also checked 10 measurements with a 20g weight. The JScale measured 20.00g with a 0.02% variation. These numbers indicate that this is a very accurate and precise instrument. This scale is a good value and I would definitely purchase another one or recommend it to a friend.
