Advanced AutoCal™ Automatic Internal Calibration You won't have to worry about buying calibration weights to keep this analytical balance nice and accurate. This AX224 analytical balance has automatic internal calibration that uses an internal mass to calibrate the scale. It will automatically calibrate with a significant change in temperature, or every 11 hours. This is gonna come in really handy, especially if you don't like maintaining calibration weights or going through the whole calibration process. If you prefer to calibrate the scale manually, you can still do that too.
Fast & Accurate With Magnetic Force Restoration This lab balance is equipped with magnetic force restoration, or electro-magnetic force, to provide super fast, accurate and repeatable measurements.
Ingenious Draftshield When you're weighing with analytical balances like this one, even the tiniest breeze can interfere with weight readings. That's why the Ohaus Adventurer comes with a durable, glass windscreen to keep out those pesky drafts. Oh, and don't worry, this balance makes it easy to put your items on, or take them off, the platform. The top and sides slide all the way back. That's not all! Ohaus designed this draftshield with dual panel doors to minimize the amount of space you need to use the balance.
Does This Thing Count? You bet it does! All you need to do is weigh a sample amount of pieces, so the scale can know how much each piece weighs, then start counting. You'll be finished in no time.
Average Piece Weight Before you start counting your pieces, you need to let the scale know how much each piece weighs. Ohaus made this simple by averaging the weight of the pieces you put on the scale. Just type in how many pieces you put on the platform, and the AX224 will average the weights. The bigger your sample is, the more accurate the balance will be when counting your pieces.
Programmable Auto Printing Feature This lab balance will automatically print your data for you! Just tell the Adventurer to continuously send data to the printer, to send it at user selectable intervals, when the balance is stable, or to only send it when you press the print key. That's pretty handy , right?
Dynamic Weighing The AX224 has a really cool dynamic weighing feature. This feature will allow you to accurately weigh unstable items by calculating the average weight of what's on the platform. Great for animal weighing.
Checkweighing Make sure you get your weights just right with this scientific balance's check weighing feature. When you weigh in this mode, you can set weight limits for the stuff you're weighing. So, if your sample weight is too low or too high, the scale will surely let you know.
Percent Weighing This feature will let you compare the weights of your samples against a predetermined reference weight. This can be helpful with recipe formulation and adjusting batch sizes.
Totalization You can use this accumulation feature to weigh a sequence of items together. This is a great feature if you need a balance with cumulative weighing for compounding ingredients. It's even okay if your accumulated totals exceed the capacity of the scale.
Density Determination The Adventurer analytical balance has four different ways to determine density. You can determine density for solids more dense than water, solids less dense than water, liquid density, and density for porous materials. All you have to do is enter a couple of parameters into the balance, the built in density table and mass measurement provides rapid and accurate results. No manual calculations needed.
Display Hold & Peak Hold You can program the scale to hold the last stable weight on the display, or set it to hold the highest weighing value on the display.
RS-232 & USB Ports The AX224 has both RS232 and USB communication ports built in for easy communication with printers, computers, monitors and more.
Stainless Steel Platform The Adventurer series has a durable stainless steel weighing platform that doesn't scratch easily and will keep its shine without rusting or tarnishing.
Weighing Hook Sometimes the thing you need to weigh just won't fit on the weighing platform. Now that's a problem for most scales, but not the AX224. This analytical balance has a weighing hook built right into the bottom. This hook works by pulling on the weighing platform when an item is hanging from it, just like if you were to put an item on top of the platform. This will come in handy for density determination, gravity calculation, and a lot more.
Tare Feature The tare button on the front of this pharmacy balance can be pressed to "zero out" the weight on the balance. You can then add more weight, and the display will only show the weight of the item you're adding. This sure is useful when you want to use a separate weighing container, or get the weights of separate items.
Illuminated Liquid Level Indicator & Adjustable Feet To get the most accurate weight readings from this balance, Ohaus designed the Adventurer with an illuminated liquid level indicator and rotating feet for adjusting the balance. It even has a level assist screen to help you figure out which foot needs adjusting.
