Product Details

Modular Design The Ohaus EX6201 Explorer has a unique modular design that allows you to separate the display from the base of the scale. The touchscreen display allows for angular adjustment and can also mount on the wall or optional tower. The display "terminal" is attached to the scale base with a long cable that allows the terminal and base to communicate.

Full Color Touch Screen Display Ohaus went all out designing this precision balance. It features a full color, 5.7 inch, touch screen display.

Four Programmable Touchless Sensors The EX-6201 Explorer is designed with four hands-free sensors, two on the base and two on the display, that make operation clean and easy, even with full hands. The touch-free sensors control the zero, print, tare and calibration operations and helps you avoid transferring sample residue to the keypad. The two sensors can even be set up independently to control up to 36 combinations of operations.

Advanced AutoCal™ Automatic Internal Calibration You won't have to worry about buying calibration weights to keep this precision balance nice and accurate. This Explorer balance has automatic internal calibration that uses internal weights to calibrate the scale. It will automatically calibrate with a significant change in temperature, or every 11 hours. This is gonna come in really handy, especially if you don't like maintaining calibration weights or going through the whole calibration process. If you prefer to calibrate the scale manually, you can still do that too.

Does This Thing Count? You bet it does! All you need to do is weigh a sample amount of pieces, so the scale can know how much each piece weighs, then start counting. You'll be finished in no time.

SmarText 2.0 Software Thanks to this special software, you don't have to be a rocket scientist to get this scale working the way you want it to. The SmarText software will guide you through the whole setup process with text prompts. After you have your scale all set up, the software will even guide you through different weighing applications.

Average Piece Weight Before you start counting your pieces, you need to let the EX6201 know how much each piece weighs. Ohaus made this simple by averaging the weight of the pieces you put on the scale. Just type in how many pieces you put on the scale, and the scale will average the weights. The bigger your sample is, the more accurate the scale will be when counting your pieces.

Programmable Auto Printing Feature This lab balance will automatically print your data for ya! Just tell the EX6201 to continuously send data to the printer, to send it at user selectable intervals, when the balance is stable, or to only send it when you press the print key. That's pretty handy, right?

Filling This feature can be used to accurately fill samples in comparison with a target weight. Just set your target weight by either weighing a filled sample or keying in your desired weight. Once your target weight is set, you may begin filling. The scale will display the target weight, difference weight, and difference percentage. There's even a progress bar on the display.

Dynamic Weighing This precision balance has a really cool dynamic weighing feature. This feature allows a to accurately weigh unstable items by calculating the average weight of what's on the platform. Great for animal weighing.

Checkweighing Make sure you get your weights just right with this scientific scale's check weighing feature. When you weigh in this mode, you can set weight limits for the stuff you're weighing. So, if your sample weight is too low or too high, the EX-6201 will surely let you know.

Percent Weighing This feature will let you compare the weights of your samples against a predetermined reference weight. This can be helpful in weight checking, compounding, formulating and more.

Totalization You can use this accumulation feature to weigh a sequence of items together. This is a great feature if you need a scale with cumulative weighing for compounding ingredients. It's even okay if your accumulated totals exceed the scale's capacity.

Differential Weighing This process will store tare and weight values for comparison with samples to be dried or processed. You may store up to 99 different samples by name for future use.

Formulation Use this feature to accurately measure and compound your formulas. Formulations can be named and stored with two to 99 specified components. Each element in your formulation, as well as, the total weight of all elements are displayed at the bottom of the display. After you've added all of your elements, your formulation is complete.

Density Determination This precision balance has four different ways to determine density. You can determine density for solids more dense than water, solids less dense than water, liquid density, and density for porous materials. All you have to do is enter a couple of parameters into the balance, the built in density table and mass measurement provides rapid and accurate results. No manual calculations needed.

Statistical Quality Control (SQC) This feature is useful for monitoring filling operations to help avoid under filling and over filling. Up to ten batches with up to 80 samples per batch are visible for quality control purposes.

Ingredient Costing If you use this scale for lots of formulations, this ingredient costing is going to come in handy. This feature will tell you how much your formulas and recipes cost based on known costs of components and ingredients.

Pipette Adjustment With the EX-6201 you can even check the accuracy and precision of your pipettes by weight analysis. Just select what liquid you want to test your pipettes with, set up a few parameters and stand back; the balance will do the rest.

Peak Hold This feature allows you to capture the highest weight in a series. Both stable and unstable weights are captured.

RS-232 & USB Ports The EX6201 Explorer has both RS232 and USB communication ports built in for easy communication with printers, computers, monitors and more.

Stainless Steel Platform This precision balance has a durable stainless steel weighing platform that doesn't scratch easily and will keep its shine without rusting or tarnishing.

Weighing Hook Sometimes the thing you need to weigh just won't fit on the scale's platform. Now that's a problem for most scales, but not the EX6201. This scale has a weighing hook built right into the bottom. This hook works by pulling on the weighing platform when an item is hanging from it, just like if you were to put an item on top of the platform. This will come in handy for density determination, gravity calculation, and a lot more.

Tare Feature The tare button on the front of this digital lab scale can be pressed to "zero out" the weight on the scale. You can then add more weight, and the display will only show the weight of the items you're adding. This sure is useful when you want to use a container to weigh your things.

Illuminated Liquid Level Indicator & QuadraStance™ Thumbwheels To get the most accurate weight readings from this scale, Ohaus designed the Explorer with an illuminated liquid level indicator and super easy to use QuadraStance? thumbwheels for adjusting the balance. It even has a level assist screen to help you figure out which foot needs adjusting.

2 YEAR MANUFACTURER'S WARRANTY! When you get the EX6201 Explorer precision balance, you need to go over to the Ohaus website and register it to receive your two year warranty.
