What Is A Moisture Balance?A moisture balance, (or sludge scale) is used to measure the amount of hydration in a material. Moisture determination can be used in a variety of fields, such as, chemical, pharmaceutical, oil and petroleum industries as well as environmental laboratories. To measure dryness or hydration, this balance uses halogen bulbs for rapid heating and drying.
Full Color Touch Screen DisplayOhaus went all out designing this moisture balance. The MB90 has a full color, 4.3 inch, QVGA graphic touch screen display.
Icon Driven Operation You don't need special training to operate this moisture balance. The MB90 has icon driven navigation that's easy to follow for quick setup and operation.
Four Quick Keys For Common Functions The MB90 moisture balance has four mechanical keys below the touchscreen for quick operations like turning the balance on and off, starting and stopping drying, printing, and taring the balance.
RS232 & USB InterfacesThe MB90 has an RS232 port, a USB host port and a USB device port built right in. Use these to send your weight readings and other data to an external source like a computer, printer, or flash drive.
Round Halogen LampThis moisture balance has a round halogen lamp to get your stuff dried up quickly and evenly. Halogen lamps dry up to 40% faster than infrared methods.
Reflective Chamber For Uniform Drying The MB90 was designed with a reflective sample chamber to give you uniform sample drying and repeatable results.
Two Endpoint Modes With this moisture balance you have the ability to choose between two different endpoints for your samples. Set the MB to stop based on weight loss per unit of time or after a specific amount of time has passed. You can also turn the drying off manually if needed.
Two Drying Profiles You can choose between two drying profiles: Standard and Fast. Standard mode increases the heat to your set temperature and keeps it steady until your endpoint is reached. Fast mode increases your temperature, overshooting your settings to allow for rapid heating. The heat then lowers and remains steady until your endpoint is reached.
Time And TemperatureYou can set the time and temperature you want to use for drying all your samples. This allows you to accurately determine hydration levels in all sorts of different materials.
Save Up To 100 Test Results The MB90 can store up to 100 test results in the balance. Perfect for when you're using the balance without access to external storage or printers.
Tool Free Maintenance You don't need tools to cleanup this moisture balance. All of the heating chamber components are easily removable for cleaning and inspection.
Tare FeatureThe tare button on the front of the MB90 can be pressed to "zero out" the weight on the balance. You can then add more weight, and the display will only show the weight of the items you're adding.
