Advanced AutoCal™ Automatic Internal Calibration
You won't have to worry about buying calibration weights for this scientific scale. This Voyager balance has automatic internal calibration that uses two internal weights to calibrate the scale. The Voyager will automatically calibrate with a significant change in temperature, or every 11 hours. This is gonna come in real handy, especially if ya don't like going through the whole calibration process. If ya prefer to calibrate the scale manually, you can do that too.
Does This Thing Count?
You bet it does! All ya need to do is weigh a sample amount of pieces, so the Voyager can know how much each piece weighs, then start counting. You'll be finished in no time.
Average Piece Weight
Before ya start counting your pieces, ya need to let the VP6101CN know how much each piece weighs. Ohaus made this simple by averaging the weight of the pieces ya put on the scale. Just type in how many pieces ya put on the scale, and the scale will average the weights. The bigger your sample is, the more accurate the scale will be when counting your pieces.
Filling
This feature can be used to accurately fill samples in comparison with a target weight. Just put your target weight on the scale and press the enter key. Remove the target sample from the scale, then add your new sample to be filled. The scale will display the target weight, difference weight, and percentage. There's even a split bar at the bottom of the display that shows the percentage of the sample compared to the target weight.
Application Library
The Voyager precision balances have an application library feature that lets you store specific parameters for your different applications. You can set libraries with parameters for Parts Counting, Check Weighing, Differential Weighing, Formulation, Statistics, Statistical Quility Control, Density and Pipette Calibration. This is gonna save you from typing in all that info every time ya want to work with your scale.
Statistical Weighing
Use this feature when you want to examine the relative deviation, and other statistical data, between compared samples. A minimum of three samples is required for this feature and can be used in Weighing, Dynamic Weighing, Check Weighing and Filling modes.
Formulation
Use this feature to accurately measure and compound your formulas. Formulations can be named and stored with up to 10 specified components. Each element in your formulation is displayed in percentage at the bottom of the display in a dual bar graph, keep adding your element until it reaches 100%. After you've added all of your elements, your formulation is complete.
Differential Weighing
This process will store tare and weight values for comparison with samples to be dried or processed. You can even store up to 80 different samples by name for future use.
Dynamic Weighing
This precision balance has a really cool dynamic weighing feature. This feature allows you to accurately weigh unstable items by calculating the average weight of what's on the platform.
Checkweighing
Make sure ya get your weights just right with this scientific scale's check weighing feature. When ya weigh in this mode, you can set weight limits for the stuff you're weighing. So, if your sample weight is too low or too high...the VP-6101CN will sure let ya know.
Percent Weighing
This feature will let ya compare the weights of your samples against a predetermined reference weight. This can be helpful in weight checking, compounding, formulating and more.
Gross, Net & Tare Weighing
When ya weigh in this mode the scale will display the weight of the tared container, the weight of the items in the container, and the total weight of all items on the scale. This can come in real handy for many different applications.
Pipette Calibration
With this scale you can even check the accuracy and precision of your pipettes by weight analysis. Just select what liquid you want to test your pipettes with, the barometric pressure, nominal value, and the pipettes' unit of measurement. Once ya set up these parameters, just stand back and let the balance do the rest.
RS-232 Serial Port
The Voyager VP6101 CN has an RS232 port built right in. This is important if you're wanting to send your weight readings and other data to an external source like a computer or printer.

Weighing Hook
Sometimes the thing ya need to weigh just won't fit on the scale's platform. Now that's a problem for most scales, but not the Voyager VP6101CN. This scale has a weighing hook built right into the bottom. This hook works by pulling on the weighing platform when an item is hanging from it, just like if ya were to put an item on top of the platform. This will come in handy for density determination, gravity calculation, and a lot more.
Tare Feature
The tare button on the front of this digital lab scale can be pressed to "zero out" the weight on the scale. You can then add more weight, and the display will only show the weight of the items you're adding. This sure is useful when ya want to use an expansion scoop to weigh your things, or if ya want to get separate weights of multiple items.
Liquid Level Indicator
This very handy feature helps you quickly and easily get your scale nice and level. A level scale is important for getting the most accurate weight readings. All ya have to do is twist the feet on the bottom of the scale until the spirit bubble is centered within the level.
