Programmable Auto-Off Feature If you've ever had your scale turn off on ya in the middle of important measurements, you'll realize what a blessing this feature is. You can program this pinewood derby scale to turn off automatically, or to stay on until you turn it off yourself.
Bright Backlit Display This table top scale has a fancy backlit display to help ya see your weight readings, even in dim lighting. Not only that! This digital scale's display will tell ya if it's holding a weight, if ya pressed the tare button, and the unit you're weighing with.
Adjustable Display Angle This scale makes it easy to read your weight readings whether you're sitting right in front of the scale, or standing over it. All ya have to do is lift up the display to the angle that works for you.
Tare Feature The tare button on the front of this portable scale can be pressed to "zero out" the weight on the scale. You can then add more weight, and the display will only show the weight of the item you're adding.
Hold Feature This feature lets ya remove weight from the scale and keep the weight reading on the display. This sure comes in handy if ya need to remove your item from the scale, or if you're having trouble seeing the weight display.
It Remembers The Last Unit ya Used If your application needs weights in the same unit of measurement, (like ounces for instance), it can be a real pain if your scale always turns on ready to weigh in grams. It's a good thing this pine wood derby scale turns on displaying the unit of measurement you were using when ya turned it off.
Easy Calibration This scale comes factory calibrated and ready to use. Just in case ya need to calibrate it, this portable digital scale comes with easy to follow calibration instructions. You'll just need to pick up a 200 gram calibration weight to get the job done.
Kill Those Vibrations With VibraKill® Did ya know that vibrations can cause a scale's reading to bounce around from one weight to another? Included with this digital scale is a VibraKill® Pad to keep vibrations, (caused by everyday items like, your fridge, nearby music, your washing machine, etc...) from messing up your weighing.

This scale is a good one for Pinewood Derby for sure. It has a nice large base that accommodates most cars and a tare function for those that need to be propped on something to keep them from rolling off (usually only those with a maximum wheel base). We decided to block off the last two decimals to make check in easier because it was very crazy trying to get everyone to within +/- 0.001 of 5 oz. last year with our old scale. But having the extra precision is nice if you want it. I only wish it would let you set it to automatically round to the nearest .1 or .01 if you wanted, but for the price this was great and that's not a hard process to do in your head... For our PWD it was very helpful to have the 200g calibration weight. The scale seems to be sensitive to temperature, so being able to zero it out with the weight was a big plus. It also gave anyone who wanted to pre-weigh with his/her own scale the exact "standard" that we would be using on check in night. I'd also recommend the calibration weight for anything really that needs that last .001 oz precision.Reviewed by: mb from North TX on (1/27/2016)
I purchased this scale in haste and thought about returning it... But I'm glad I kept it. Why? Razor sharp measurements. For anyone on budget but in need of accuracy this is the scale. I use it solely for lye & water measurements when I'm making soap; I make small batches 1 to 2 ponds and my weighed ingredients rarely exceed 8 ounces ... It's perfect. Which leads to my sole quibble of the Pinewood Derby Scale: Its maximum weighing capability in ounces is 10.580 and this great for a hobby/beginner Soaper who values accuracy. All said I highly recommend The Pinewood Derby Scale (and yes I watch South Park)!Reviewed by: J William Collier from Boston,MA on (12/20/2014)
