Product Details

Aquatronic Feature Lots of kitchen scales only let ya weigh dry ingredients, but not this one. The Salter 1053 digital food scale can measure both wet and dry ingredients...It's the ultimate recipe scale!

Touch Key Operation You won't find any buttons on this digital food scale. The 1053 has sensor touch technology that lets you simply place your finger on the key you want to operate. You won't have to worry about water damage, gunk getting stuck under the keys, or buttons breaking.

Perfect For Recipes! If you're having a tough time getting consistent recipes, you should try weighing out each ingredient with this Salter kitchen scale. When ya weigh what you're putting into your mixes, you have a better chance of your recipes coming out the same each time. And the best part is...no more measuring cups! Just weigh your ingredient, set the scale back to zero, and weigh the next! This sleek kitchen scale can handle up to eleven pounds of ingredients.

Glass Weighing Platform This digital food scale has a glass weighing platform for measuring the weights of food portions and ingredients. Glass platforms are great at resisting stains and odors and this scale's top is one solid piece, so cleaning is a breeze.

Tare Feature The tare button on the front of the 1053 kitchen scale can be pressed to "zero out" the weight on the scale. You can then add more weight, and the display will only show the weight of the items you're adding. This sure is useful when ya want to use a plate or bowl to weigh your food.

Energy Saving Auto-Off If ya have ever had the batteries in something run out because you forgot to turn it off, you'll realize what a blessing this feature is. The Salter 1053 will automatically turn off after about 55 seconds of inactivity, saving battery power and money.

It Remembers The Last Unit Ya Used If your application needs weights in the same unit of measurement, (like ounces for instance), it can be a real pain if your scale always turns on ready to weigh in grams. It's a good thing the 1053 White turns on displaying the unit of measurement you were using when ya turned it off.

10 YEAR MANUFACTURER'S WARRANTY! Salter provides a ten year warranty on this kitchen scale, so if ya have a problem with your 1053 send it in to the Salter warranty center. They'll get a replacement sent right back to ya.

I don't really like how it feels but it works just fine. Didn't realize how thin it would be and would have preferred something a little more sturdy. The one I have now is very old but the same brand and I was trying to get the same type but did not look at the product picture well enough. But I'm keeping it because it works fine.

Nice, thin, sealed from water. Display gets hidden by larg bowls

I like this scale but my 7 quart bread bowl hides part of the display. Its nicely thin so I can store it on edge with cookbooks so it is handy (I use scales to cook everything and am converting recipes). I bought it for the liquid scale but DUR, I only weigh water or water based things so that's not needed. Oils have to be manually adjusted for. I can;t get it to read out in pounds, only ounces and grams. I wonder if that's a defect. Great warranty: another box to keep in the garage!
