Aquatronic Feature Lots of kitchen scales only let ya weigh dry ingredients, but not this one. The Salter 3861 digital food scale can measure both wet and dry ingredients...It's the ultimate recipe scale!
Unique, Adjustable Display The Salter 3861SS has an adjustable display mounted on an arm that can hinge up and over large bowls and plates, or remain flush with the scale
Perfect For Recipes! If you're having a tough time getting consistent recipes, you should try weighing out each ingredient with this Salter kitchen scale. When ya weigh what you're putting into your mixes, you have a better chance of your recipes coming out the same each time. And the best part is...no more measuring cups! Just weigh your ingredient, set the scale back to zero, and weigh the next! This sleek kitchen scale can handle up to eleven pounds of ingredients.
Stainless Steel Platform This digital food scale has a durable stainless steel weighing platform to make cleanup a breeze. Stainless steel doesn't scratch easily and keeps its shine without rusting or tarnishing.
Tare Feature The tare button on the side of the 3861SS kitchen scale can be pressed to "zero out" the weight on the scale. You can then add more weight, and the display will only show the weight of the items you're adding. This sure is useful when ya want to use a plate or bowl to weigh your food.
Energy Saving Auto-Off If ya have ever had the batteries in something run out because you forgot to turn it off, you'll realize what a blessing this feature is. The Salter 3861 will automatically turn off after about 100 seconds of inactivity, saving battery power and money.
It Remembers The Last Unit Ya Used If your application needs weights in the same unit of measurement, (like ounces for instance), it can be a real pain if your scale always turns on ready to weigh in grams. It's a good thing the 3861 turns on displaying the unit of measurement you were using when ya turned it off.
10 YEAR MANUFACTURER'S WARRANTY! Salter provides a 10 year warranty on this digital kitchen scale. So, if ya have a problem with the 3861 just send it to the Salter warranty center. They'll fix it or replace it and send it right back to ya.
Customer Reviewswrite your review
I was attracted to the design of this scale: the swinging arm of the display, the low profile. The scale has two buttons: one that works as an On / Off / Tare, and the other which changes the units being measured. I received the scale quickly, well-packed, and set it up. I could not get it to tare, or to turn off, to save my life. I sent Old Will a query, and very quickly received a helpful note with instructions (a quick punch for tare, a longer continuous hold to turn it off). No matter how I tried, that just would not work. I sent in another ticket, updating the folks at Old Will on my lack of success, and to their everlasting credit, they put a new scale in the mail to me right away. The second one works perfectly, and I put it to use the same evening that I received it. I tried weighing a few items of know weight around the house, and it gave the correct weight, so for a consumer's purposes, it seems to work well enough. Lightweight, thin, creative design, and accuracy. Have no idea about longevity, since I've only had a working example for 4 hours, but it's off to a good start. And more importantly, these seem like very good folks to deal with. I would definitely recommend them to a friend. For the star ratings: the first one would get Zero stars, the second one gets 4 stars, and the company gets 5 stars, so we'll call it 4 stars. I like these people.... I wish more companies were like them.Reviewed by: Bob from Connecticut on (5/20/2015)
