Scale Recommendation Series - Pet Scales

by | | 0 comment(s)

With darn near half of all the houses in the United States having a pet, it's no surprise we get a lot of calls about animal scales. We hear from folks with all types of animal weighing needs. Whether it's an owner who wants to keep tabs on their tabby cat's diet, breeders making every effort to make sure their pups are in tip top health, or veterinarians in need of high capacity scales for large animals we're sure to have a scale that will work for you and your critters. We have a whole category filled with scales that work well for pets, but, in this article, we're going to talk about a few of our most popular pet scales and what really makes them stand out.

The My Weigh 3001P weighing a guinea pig.

We love to recommend the My Weigh 3001P for tiny animals like mice, hamsters, guinea pigs, kittens and small puppies. Why? It has a bowl! It also measures down to a single gram up to 3000 grams and has a tare feature, so you can use a blanket in the bowl if ya want. The hold feature on this digital scale is pretty handy, too. Press it when your animal is still and the display will freeze the weight.

Need something with a little more oomph? The original UltraShip series just might be what you're looking for. Three models to choose from with capacities ranging from 35 to 75 pounds. Each of these scales have a removable display, making them easy to use with carriers or baskets, and can hold the weights on the display just like the 3001P.

If you're in love with everything other than the platform size the UltraShip offers, check out the My Weigh UltraBaby MBSC-55. Get all the functionality of the UltraShip 55 plus a 10 by 20 inch weighing cradle and a sturdy base.

The Adam Equipment CPWPlus series

Veterinarian offices are pretty fond of the Adam CPWPlus series. The CPWs come in a range of capacities and resolutions plus they can send weight data to a computer or printer, and have a dynamic weighing mode that will help filter out weight fluctuations caused by movement. These digital vet scales also have the ever so handy hold feature you can access from the remote indicator, and the platforms are stainless steel.

We're pretty confident one of the scales in this post will be the perfect scale for you, but if you're still having trouble give us a call!

Take care,
Shala
