Shock, Spill, and Splash Resistant Base This high capacity precision balance has built in protection against shocks and spills with a rating of IP54 against debris and liquids.
Modular Design The Ohaus Explorer EX12001 has a unique modular design that allows you to separate the touchscreen terminal from the weighing base up to five feet. You can adjust the angle of the terminal for better viewing, and it can be mounted on a wall or optional tower.
Full Color VGA Graphic Touch Screen Display The Explorer balances feature a full color graphic display with 4-wire resistive touch screen controls.
Two Programmable Touchless Sensors The high capacity EX12001 is designed with two hands-free sensors on the terminal to improve efficiency, and reduce sample residue transfer and contamination. The touch-free IR sensors can be programmed to control the zero, print, tare or calibration operations.
Intuitive SmarText 2.0 Software This easy-to-use graphical software from Ohaus features assistance for 13 different weighing applications, virtual QWERTY keypad, library for customizations, formulation recipe storage, audible and visual feedback, and more.
Advanced AutoCal™ Automatic Internal Calibration You won't have to worry about buying calibration weights to keep this high capacity lab balance accurate. The Explorer EX-HiCap models have automatic internal calibration that uses and internal mass for calibration. The EX-12001 will automatically calibrate with a significant change in temperature, or every 3-11 hours.
Good Laboratory Practice (GLP) & Good Manufacturing Practice (GMP) Data Output You can set a header, balance name, user name, and project name on the EX balances for traceability of results.
Programmable Auto Printing This lab balance can automatically print your data for you! Just adjust the settings to continuously send data to the printer, to send it at user selectable intervals, when the balance is stable, or to only send it when you press the print key.
Filling This feature can be used to accurately fill samples in comparison with a target weight. Set your target weight by either weighing a filled sample or keying in your desired weight. Once your target weight is set, you may begin filling. The scale will display the target weight, difference weight, and difference percentage. There's even a progress bar on the display.
Dynamic / Animal Weighing This bench scale has a useful dynamic weighing feature that allows you to accurately weigh unstable items by calculating the average weight of what's on the platform.
Checkweighing With Audible And Visual Signals To make sure you get your weights just right, this high capacity balance has a checkweighing feature that will let you set your target weight. Once your target weight is set, the EX12001 will let you know when you're over, under or just right.
Percent Weighing This feature will let you compare the weights of your samples against a predetermined reference weight. This can be helpful in weight checking, compounding, formulating and more.
Totalization You can use this accumulation feature to weigh a sequence of items together. This is a great feature if you need a scale with cumulative weighing for compounding ingredients. Accumulated totals may exceed the capacity of the balance.
Differential Weighing This process will store tare and weight values for comparison with samples to be dried or processed. You may store up to 99 different samples by name for future use.
Formulation Use this feature to accurately measure and compound your formulas. Formulations can be named and stored with two to 99 specified components. Each element in your formulation, as well as, the total weight of all elements are displayed at the bottom of the display. After you've added all of your elements, your formulation is complete.
Density Determination This precision balance has four different ways to determine density. You can determine density for solids more dense than water, solids less dense than water, liquid density, and density for porous materials. All you have to do is enter a couple of parameters into the balance, the built in density table and mass measurement provides rapid and accurate results. No manual calculations needed.
Statistical Quality Control (SQC) This feature is useful for monitoring filling operations to help avoid under filling and over filling. Up to ten batches with up to 80 samples per batch are visible for quality control purposes.
Ingredient Costing If you use this scale for lots of formulations, this ingredient costing is going to come in handy. This feature will tell you how much your formulas and recipes cost based on known costs of components and ingredients.
Peak Hold This feature allows you to capture the highest weight in a series. Both stable and unstable weights are captured.
RS232 & USB Interfaces The EX-12001 comes standard with both RS232 and USB communication ports built in for easy communication with printers, computers, monitors and more.
Below Balance Weighing This lab balance is also equipped with an internal mechanism to facilitate below scale weighing. Perfect for measuring magnetic materials and aiding density determination.
Liquid Level Indicator & QuadraStance™ Thumbwheels To get the most accurate weight readings from this precision balance, Ohaus designed the Explorer with a liquid level indicator and QuadraStance thumbwheels for making adjustments. It even has a level assist screen to help you figure out which foot needs adjusting.
