Product Details

Dishwasher Safe Stainless Steel Platform This digital kitchen scale has a stainless steel platform that lifts easily off the scale for cleaning. Best part is, the platform is dishwasher safe!

Aquatronic FeatureLots of kitchen scales only let you weigh dry ingredients, but not this one. The Salter 1078 digital food scale can measure both wet and dry ingredients...It's the ultimate recipe scale!

Perfect For Recipes! If you're having a tough time getting consistent recipes, you should try weighing out each ingredient with this Salter kitchen scale. When you weigh what you're putting into your mixes, you have a better chance of your recipes coming out the same each time. And the best part is...no more measuring cups! Just weigh your ingredient, set the scale back to zero, and weigh the next! This sleek kitchen scale can handle up to eleven pounds of ingredients.

Tare FeatureThe TARE button on the front of the Salter 1078SS can be pressed to "zero out" the weight on the scale. You can then add more weight, and the display will only show the weight of the items you're adding. This sure is useful when you want to use a plate or bowl to weigh your food.

Energy Saving Auto-OffIf you have ever had the batteries in something run out because you forgot to turn it off, you'll realize what a blessing this feature is. The Salter 1078SS will automatically turn off after about one minute of inactivity if there isn't any weight on the platform. If you do have something on the platform, the scale will turn off after about three minutes of inactivity.

It Remembers The Last Unit You UsedIf your application needs weights in the same unit of measurement, (like ounces for instance), it can be a real pain if your scale always turns on ready to weigh in grams. It's a good thing the 1078 turns on displaying the unit of measurement you were using when you turned it off.

1 YEAR MANUFACTURER'S WARRANTY!Salter provides a one year warranty on this kitchen scale, so if you have a problem with your 1078 call the Salter warranty center. They'll get you taken care of.

I was looking for a scale with a fairly high max capacity *and* a 0.1g sensitivity. Most of the other options were either gigantic or really expensive. This is neither and I believe it will prove to be exactly what I was looking for.

We'd had one of these for years and it finally gave up the ghost. We wanted to get another so we could continue using the old faceplate as a spare when one's in the dishwasher. The price was so good (half what Amazon wanted for the same scale) we ended up getting two!

Had another Salter for 10+ years. It finally stopped working and I was lost. Now that I have my new Salter, I'm back cooking and baking again. It's a must have gadget.

I'm not quite sure I understand your question. Are you asking about the tare function? You can also email your questions to us at help@oldwillknottscales.

According to the documentation above, the scale has a resolution of 0.5 g. The resolution of a scale is the smallest increment in applied weight that can be detected or displayed on the scale. So the Minimum Weighable Quantity (MWQ) to attain +/- 5% is 10g. That is if you weigh 10 g on the scale, the real weight is between 9.5 and 10.5 g. Is that correct?
