It Talks! Only If Ya Want If you, or a friend, have less than perfect eyesight, the XL-440 talking bathroom scale is for you. When you weigh with this scale, your weight readings will be said aloud in a pleasant, easy to hear female voice. If you're not in the mood to have your weights announced, just flip the switch on the bottom of the scale to make it hush up.
Easy To Read Weight Display A lot of the bathroom scales ya see around have a teeny tiny weight display. Now, that's fine for most people, but not if ya have trouble seeing that tiny stuff. My Weigh designed this digital bathroom scale with a great big, LCD weight display with digits nearly one and a half inches tall. This feature is great for users with not-so-great vision.
It Won't Scuff Up Your Floor Don't you worry about the XL440 scuffing up your pretty bathroom floor. The XL has scuff resistant foot pads to keep your floor safe, and to keep your scale from sliding around.
Step And Weigh Feature You won't have to bother bending down to switch this bathroom scale on...just give it a quick tap it with your foot. The scale will turn on and you can get to weighing. Pretty easy, huh?
30 YEAR MANUFACTURER'S WARRANTY! If ya have a problem with this scale, just send it to MyWeigh's warranty center in Phoenix, Arizona. They'll fix or replace your scale and send it on its way back to ya within a week of receiving it. You should expect your replacement to arrive in about two to three weeks from the day you send the original off. Keep in mind that sometimes MyWeigh runs out of stock, which can cause a delay in the warranty replacement process.

This scale is AWESOME! - It came in just a few days - When you put it on the floor and step on it, it doesn't budge....very sturdy, but light to carry. - It is very inexpensive and high quality especially compared to Walmart scales - It is a lot of fun to have your weight read to you aloud. The voice feature works great. My kids and grandkids love it, too! - It has not read a different weight in all the times I have stood on it a like all the other scales I have owned I guarantee you that you won't be sorry if you buy this scale! I am glad I went out on a limb and bought it!Reviewed by: Jennifer from WA on (4/27/2016)
I purchased this for a relative who has weight and health issues. He usually avoids any focus on his weight, so I was amazed when he agreed to this scale. In addition to being 300+ pounds, he has poor vision so this seemed to be the right scale for him. Not only does the scale work as advertised, it has become a tool to help him become more focused on losing weight. Instead of avoiding anything to do with weight, he is weighing himself regularly and keeping track of the loss/gain in weight. So far he has lost weight and we are actively talking healthy eating, exercise, and using the scale to keep in on track.Reviewed by: Sharon from Minnesota on (4/18/2016)
I received the scale four days after ordering using free shipping. The scale is everything as advertised and then some. I weigh 360 pounds and am recovering from hip replacement surgery with a subsequent hip fracture and therefore am not able to stand very well. Even though I am wobbly when standing, the scale settles in and gives me a weight. The "talking" feature makes it convenient as I don't have to look down.Reviewed by: Paul Mihalyov from Tallmadge, OH on (2/25/2016)
Great Scale. Would do it again.Reviewed by: Tom Brazzel from Sacramento Ky. on (2/24/2016)
I've owned this scale for about a month now and I am very pleased with it. I really appreciate the fact that when you step on it you don't have to worry about it breaking, it is very sturdy. I am a large man and have gone through two other scales that had eventually cracked from use although they were "rated" to handle more than my weight. The weight this scale displays is precisely what the scale at my doctors office shows also, so I believe it to be accurate. The bonus is the price, I was concerned that buying another low priced scale would end up the same as the first two, since using it, I have been relieved of that concern.I know this is supposed to be a scale review, but I would also like to mention that dealing with Old Will Knott was a great experience, I give their company a 5 star rating as well as this scale.Reviewed by: Andy from Sturgis SD on (1/9/2016)
The customer service rep was very helpful and knowledgeable. I was undecided and finally settled on the My Weigh XL-440. It is very accurate and the voice readout keeps me from having to move to read my weight.Reviewed by: Pam Daniel from Columbus,OH on (12/16/2015)
I have owned this scale about a month and think it is great. The scale is accurate (weighs exactly as my MD's scale), well constructed and the voice is easy to understand. I have poor eyesight and this works well for me. I owned another talking scale from Will Knott's prior to this but it stopped working after awhile. I was very happy to find another even better one at Will Knott Scale. Will Knott's is my go to place for all scales!Reviewed by: Ruth Givens from Kentucky on (12/16/2015)
My husband weighs slightly over 400lbs and we wanted to ensure that he could weigh in without the scale being stressed. It has worked nicely. I found the voice odd at first but now it amuses me. It says hello and we say hello. It tells us it's ready and we say okay. It says goodbye and we say goodbye. Sort of a pretty amusing game. Scale seems to function well. Black color does like to look dirty easily. But that's a minor thing.Reviewed by: Daisuke from NM on (9/29/2015)
Love my weigh scales, it's easy to read, and when I don t have my glasses on it tells me what my weight is. Best one I have had. Thank you.Reviewed by: Anna from CanalFulton,Ohio on (7/21/2015)
I bought this scale and love it to death. It is so perfect for me. The only thing that is hard for me is to understand what they are saying as far as the weight goes.as I am hard of hearing. I look down and see the numbers and I am fine. I would recommend this for everybody.IT IS THE BEST. Keep up the great work and Merry Christmas cause mine will be!Reviewed by: Delilah LeSage from Watseka Illinois on (12/2/2014)
My father in law, who is legally blind at 94 years of age, likes to track his weight and this allows him to do it. About the only thing that would make it better is if it had some level of memory so that somewhere between a week and a month of weights could be retained.Reviewed by: Wally from Suburban Chicago on (11/13/2014)
I was more than shocked to find scales that weight over 350 pounds for under $50 but Old Will Knott Scales had many!!!! The talking feature on this scale stopped working after a couple of days. I picked it up and shook it and it worked but it was so quiet I could barely hear it. I shook it some more and it worked ok but I was so disappointed in it I shut the talking button off. Works great though.Reviewed by: Denise from Clovis, CA on (8/6/2014)
This scale is really a wonder. I bought it for my mom (90 yrs young). She needs to weigh herself daily due to CHF. She is also hard of hearing. If the volume could be turned up it would be perfect. She adapts though and when she hears it she steps off and picks up the scale and holds it close to her eyes! The digital display is JUST big enough. So 4 STARS instead of 5 however very happy with the purchase. (I can hear it clearly no problem)Reviewed by: Wendy Andrews from Maryland on (6/7/2014)
I bought this scale for my elderly mother who still lives on her own. She gets a chuckle out of hearing the voice greet her, tell her what she weighs, and then say goodbye. The scale is accurate & easy to read. She uses it on a hard floor rather than carpeting. It's a great value for the price.Reviewed by: Shirley Thompson from Indiana on (5/13/2014)
I was looking forward to the scales being true no matter where I put it. First of all it needed a hard floor to put it on ,not carpet. The voice sounds like a depressed English lady (old ). It changes weight depending on where you step on. I am not impressed and wished I'd saved my money.Reviewed by: pat fackler from leipsic, ohio on (3/12/2014)
I ordered this for my 83-year old Mother who has serious eye challenges. She must weigh herself every day and was having problems seeing her "standard" scale. This was the perfect solution! She uses this every day and loves the simplicity of it. I had a great customer experience buying this for her. Their communications was top notch.Reviewed by: Dan from Kansas on (1/20/2014)
Excellent product/excellent service really enjoy using the scale and would recommend the product and the companyReviewed by: m.matsu from Hi on (12/25/2013)
I love this scale! It can not only handle a 300+lb body but also accommodate large feet and aging eyes. (Very good size digital numbers.) I liked the talking function, but my husband did not; I was very glad it offers the option to turn the sound off. I give this my highest recommendation!Reviewed by: M. Ahearn from South Jersey on (10/21/2013)
I ordered the My Weigh XL440 talking scale on 7/8/2013 and I received the scale in less than the 5 business days expected. Old Will Knott has an "outstanding customer service" department!!! The operational instructions that accompanied the order was "VERY USER FRIENDLY" and I was able to start my weighing in a couple of minutes. The voice that announces my weight is clear and loud enough to be easily heard. So far, I am happy with my new scale and I look forward to the voiced announcements as I lower my weight.Reviewed by: Bernita from Fort Washington, MD on (7/31/2013)
I bought this scale for my husband who has a medical condition necesitating him to weigh daily. He could not read the numbers on any of the scales we owned and I found this one. Not only can he read the numbers, he doesn't have to and you don't have to be a rocket scientist to use it. It has a large platform making it stay in one place and easy for a larger person to get on and off. It weighs to the ounce (150.5) and is accurate. This is not only useful, but necessary for some medical conditions. I would highly recommend this scale over the pricier ones I have purchased. The service was fantastic at this web site.Reviewed by: Kyle from Oregon on (4/29/2013)
this is the best scale I have ever owned. We love the voice talking to us when we use it. This helps keep us honest when we get on to weigh. . It makes my grandkids laugh and they think its the best thing in the house to try out when they come to visit. The large platform makes for ease of use. I like the fact that it dont take those real expensive batteries and just regular AA I couldnt be more pleased with this purchase. Highly recommend to anyone looking for an excellent scale.Reviewed by: Linda from Tacoma, Washington on (2/23/2013)
I am over 300 and finding a scale that was even near accurate was a difficult task. This unit is fairly accurate and I really love the fact it tells me the weight. I would but it again.Reviewed by: Jerry from New Jersey on (1/25/2013)
I bought this scale because I am morbidly obese at 412 pounds and wanted to know how much I weigh so I can keep track of it and try to work on losing weight. No more waiting to go to the doctor to see how much I've gained or lost. I am thrilled with this scale. For a talking scale, it was inexpensive. I love it. It is easy to use, the display is large and easy to read, also there is no fudging on how much you weigh because the female voice tells you (without any hint of judgement about how much you weigh). When you step to activate the scale she pleasantly says "hello". She tells you "it's ready" when it si time to step on the scale and "good bye" after you have stepped off. The customer service at Old Will Knott Scales is outstanding. They followed up with me through email to see how I liked my purchase. Love it!Reviewed by: Greta from Michigan on (12/19/2012)
I received my scale quite quickly. I ordered this because with eyesight not being as great as it was I wanted something that would speak my weight. This scale did - down to the ounces! I love it. I even "tested" it by moving it around the house - same weight everywhere! I even tested with holding my cat and not holding - and he weighs 16 lbs! He needs a diet! Thanks guys - great service - came quickly - emails kept me updated and in perfect shape!Reviewed by: Char from Oregon on (5/7/2012)
recieved the replacement, set it up, works beautifly....Easy to hear thanks to the adjustable volume also easy to see. Couldn't be happier. VERY SATISFIED with the scale and your excellent customer service. Will recommend to every one I know who is looking for this type of scale.Reviewed by: Elizabeth Baptista from Revere, MA on (3/14/2012)
I purchased this scale for my grandmother that has a hard time seeing her regular scale. It works great for her. It is loud enough for her to hear.Reviewed by: Kristi Kline from Missouri on (12/29/2011)
Great scale! I bought this for my aging parents with bad eyesight. Very good as they do not have to bend over to try to see the weight. It also provides you with a more accurate weight since you stand straight up.Reviewed by: Steve from Ohio on (12/17/2011)

A: Underneath the weight display, there should be a button marked LB/KG. If you press that button, you should be able to cycle through pounds and kilograms at will.Answered by: Brandon (8/26/2014)
A: Hi Johanna,
This model has a lifetime warranty from the manufacturer. We don't have a lot of troubleshooting information for any of our bathroom scales, and, since you've already replaced the batteries, I don't have anything else to recommend. To get a replacement scale from the manufacturer you will just need a copy of your receipt and the warranty card for the scale. Once you have those you can send them to My Weigh along with the scale and they will send out a brand new replacement.
A: Hey there Jim,
No, the unit does not have any volume control, and the speakers are underneath the unit. I surmise that has something to do with people not being able to hear it clearly. However, when I use the unit, I can hear it just fine.
If you're concerned about it, I would recommend having a look at the J-Talk 440. The speaker is on the top, right between your feet, and it has volume control.
