Product Details

Programmable Auto-Off Feature You can stack up to three of the Newton balances for neat, compact storage...perfect for schools and other places tight on space.

Programmable Backlight If you've ever had your scale turn off on ya in the middle of important measurements, you'll realize what a blessing this feature is. You can program the Newton balances to turn off automatically, or to stay on until you turn them off yourself.

Hinged Protective Windscreen You can even program the backlight for the EJ123. If ya work in dim environments, you can set the backlight to always on, or to turn on when ya press a button or change the weight on the scale. If ya don't really need a backlight, just set it to off. No unnecessary power use here.

Tare Feature The tare button on the front of this digital scale can be pressed to "zero out" the weight on the scale. You can then add more weight, and the display will only show the weight of the item you're adding. This sure is useful when ya want to use a separate weighing container or get the weights of separate items.

Stainless Steel Platform This compact digital scale has a durable stainless steel weighing platform to make cleanup a breeze. Unlike gold or silver, stainless steel doesn't scratch easily and keeps its shine without rusting or tarnishing. This scale's platform is perfect for weighing smaller items. Use it as a jewelry scale for weighing small gems and jewelry pieces, or as a counting scale for pharmaceutical measurements... the uses are endless!

Easy Calibration You'll have no problem at all calibrating this portable balance. You'll just need to pick up a 100 gram calibration weight to get the job done.

Does This Thing Count? You bet it does! All ya need to do is weigh a sample amount of pieces, so the EJ123 can know how much each piece weighs, then start counting. You'll be finished in no time.

Easy To Clean, Sealed Keypad You won't have to worry about dust and dirt getting stuck under and around this scale's buttons...The A&D Newton has an easy to clean membrane keypad with accurately labeled keys for easy weighing.

Liquid Level Indicator This very handy feature helps you quickly and easily get your scale nice and level. A level scale is important for getting the most accurate weight readings.

Percent Weighing This feature will let ya compare the weights of your samples against a predetermined reference weight. This can be helpful in weight checking, compounding, formulating and more.

5 YEAR MANUFACTURER'S WARRANTY! This compact balance is covered with a 5 year warranty from A&D Weighing against defects in material and workmanship.

I live in Virginia. What about humidity issues?
Asked by: shinydime on June 26, 2018 3:14 PM
Good question. Any precision scale can be affected by the environment in which it's located. After you receive the scale, you should allow it to sit for about 24 hours so that it can acclimate.

will this work good to weigh diamonds with it? is this accurate enough to weigh 0.001 ct ?
Asked by: aslanian86 on March 23, 2017 1:36 AM
The EJ-123 has a resolution of 0.005 ct. It will work well for precious stones and such, but if you need a higher resolution, then you may want to try a different scale. At the bottom of our site under SHOPPING HELPERS, you can use our Scale Finder to help you find the right scale for your needs. You can also call us if you have any questions. Thanks!

Great for reloading purposes.
Let me start by saying, order from Old Will, do not use Amazon. 3rd party sellers will be ready screw people over and very much so out of someone who worked hard for the money. I ordered the same one from Amazon and let's just say it was missing the metal platter. Let alone the seller claimed it not to be open. When the tape was cut before.
Now ya see the back story of why I have ordered from here, good company, honest, and I had a good chuckle at the paper they leave in the package. Sorry, only way to know what I mean is to order from them.
The scale is great for reloading, as it can read one kernel of powder, which isn't super important, but when loading near max charges...rather be on the safe side. Word of caution, don't have any fans on when using the scale, it is super sensitive!

Great scale, should include CAL weight
Very accurate scale that really helps reloading ammunition. I don't understand why though they would not include a recommended calibration weight. If you're going to spend $350 on a scale you would think you would get a calibration weight. Legs are pretty cheap feeling but overall I am very happy with the scale

A&D EJ-123
I bought this scale as an upgrade to my rifle ammo reloading process. Previously I was using an 15 year old Dillon electronic scale but it only measures to the tenth of a grain and I wanted more precision for powder weighing. This measures to the hundredth of a grain. (It will actually measure a single stick of powder). I've only had this scale about a week but so far I am impressed. Once I got it leveled, its been great. I was concerned about how long it would take to settle on a weight but it is fast enough and I'm not a patient guy. Relatively simple to use with good instructions. If you are a reloader, this can up your game!

Reloaders Need To Find This
Absolutely great experience and product. Super fast well packed shipping. Cheapest prices and widest selection of balances and scales I have ever found. All the reloaders looking for accurate, stable, no creep, .02 grain resolution this is it. This scale will trickle individual kernels of extruded powder all day long. Why there is not more cross over of this site and scale in the shooting world I will never know. Almost none of the standard name brand reloading scales have this capacity and cost the same or more. I regret playing around with anything else knowing now what great equipment is.

Thanks Old Will Knott Scales.

great little scale for a fantastic price!
We needed a scale to weigh in the +/- 0.002gm range but not very often, so we did not want to shell out beaucoup bucks. This scale is perfect for the price and precision. I am glad it did not have a huge "box" of glass on top, but did come with just a little breeze shield on a hinge--easier to use and lower profile. Glad I found you on the web!

Excellent for a strain gauge scale
Used for reloading i was able to get repeatable accuracy to +/- 0.02gr though it is a slower process than I would have liked getting there. The slow response to change in weight is not a function of the manufacturer, but of the strain gauge scale and the fine increments it can read. I threw 100 charges to within .02 of my goal and then put them, randomly, back on the scale and they were all within that tolerance. The scale does drift, again, a function of a strain gauge scale, but for the price OWKnott offers it is tough, if not impossible, to beat. I will be saving my shekels for an fx120i and an auto trickler, but for now this scale fits the bill.

Worth the money
The scale performs well, my standard weights were spot on out of the box and calibration was not needed. It does take a couple seconds to stabilize but that is due to the older technology used. The much better force restoration scales cost twice as much, this one is good value for the price.

My only complaint is it feels a little flimsy, not as solid as I would like. But it is a precision scale, not for heavy duty use so it should not matter in the long run.

It takes patience
Seems to be very accurate. It takes a little time but you must wait until you it stabilizes each weigh. The zero drift makes me a little uneasy, so you must keep an eye on it and re-zero when needed. Don't worry about the last digit drifting up and down 1 unit, it is the nature of the beast. I had to buy a line filter at Best Buy which raised my cost 75 bucks. It keeps it's calibration quite a while I just wish it was more stable. Using the wind cover is a must. Ray

Very pleased
I am using this scale for precision reloading. I throw the charge on an RCBS chargemaster then reweigh on this scale and trickle up to the desired weight using a Dandy Trickler.....I have had no issues with accuracy of this arrangement and it is far less expensive than some other options.

Great Service and Scale
After trying a less expensive high resolution scale that did not perform as expected the Old Will Knott staff happily accepted the return and suggested this scale. For only marginally more money this is a completely different class of equipment. I am now able to weight essentially down to a single grain of powder and easily achieving single digit SDs without all of challenges of the cheaper models. If your unsure this is the one don't waste your time on anything cheaper.

Tighter Groups at Long Ranges
I ordered this scale to tighten up my groups at ultra long range. Shooting past 2000 yards everything needs to be consistent especially the powder charge. I found that my electronic powder scale and dispenser was fine for regular distances but not accurate enough at ultra long ranges. Now I use the powder scale and dispenser to start, then I finish using the A&D EJ-123. My groups have improved along with first round hits.

Very nice scale. The only thing I Am having difficulty with is the sensitivity of the unit. After the half hour warm up time it still jumps around 0.02- 0.04 grains. I know its not a lot but still makes it hard to get a precise powder load.

Known "Static Electricity induced error"
This is a fantastic scale,,, but,,, there is a known problem with the dust cover affecting the indicated weight. The solution is to remove the dust cover until you are not going the use the unit for a while. A better solution would be for the manufacturer to properly ground the dust cover. Bye the way, wiping everything with a "Dryer Tissue" does NOT work.

All I was hoping for
I figure this cost me an extra $150 because of my stubbornness. In spite of the mixed reviews on the Gempro 250 I bought one last year. After trying to keep it weighting over the past year it finally died. This unit so far is far superior. I use it for reloading rifle bullets and the repeatability of this scale is great. The % function makes sorting brass quick and easy. The hole in the lid allows me to add one kernel of powder at a time to get right to the load I'm looking for. I'll come back in 6 months or so to report on long term dependability.

I have gone thru a few scales in the past couple months. I went to the EJ-123 last month. I am using the scale for reloading Rifle Ammo. It is very, very good. I am finding the warm up time is very important ( cold here this time of the year). I am using Varget and 4831SC Powders. The scale is handling them well.
I find getting my needed weight on the scale then Zeroing it for Target weight works the best.
I would tell reloading people this is a go to scale.

A&D EJ-123
Was not satisfied with my first scale purchase, I spoke with Brandon and explained to him my needs for reloading and he recommended the A&D EJ-123. Although more expensive than the first I was willing if the scale worked as he stated. Let me say it is great, easy to calibrate, stays on zero and I can weigh individual grains of powder. No matter where I place the pan on the scale head it weighs the same and does not bounce back and forth. Once I obtain my desired weight I don't have to raise and lower the pan to verify it is accurate. Couldn't be happier thanks once again for the advise and outstanding product.

Certificate of Calibration
When I ordered this scale I asked if it came with an NIST traceable cert of calibration. The sales person said that they did not because they were supplied by serial number so once I received the scale, I just needed to let them know what it was and the cert of calibration could be provided at no additional charge. When I called to get it, the person I spoke with did not seem to know what I was talking about. When I tried to convey it, I thought they got it, but what I was sent was a cert of compliance saying it was manufactured IAW ISO9001 and ISO13485. My question is: how do you sell scales and not know what a cert of calibration is? As a result of this, I have not been able to use the scale at all, it is still stuck in my Quality Department, awaiting a calibration certificate.
