Automatic Draftshield DoorsThe Ohaus EX225/AD Explorer with Auto Doors has motorized draftshield doors you can program to open and close with the wave of a hand. This handy feature helps prevent contamination and residue buildup.

Built-In Ionizer Static electricity can alter measurements up to several milligrams. That's why Ohaus designed this Semi-Micro model to include a built in ionizer in the weighing chamber. The ionizer eliminates static electricity by generating bipolar ions from positive and negative discharge electrodes.

Modular Design The Ohaus EX225/AD has a unique modular design that allows you to separate the display from the base of the balance. The touchscreen display allows for angular adjustment and can also mount on the wall or optional tower. The display "terminal" is attached to the base of the balance with a long cable that allows the terminal and base to communicate.

Full Color Touch Screen Display Ohaus went all out designing this semi micro balance. It features a full color, 5.7 inch, touch screen display.

Four Programmable Touchless Sensors The E225/AD is designed with four hands-free sensors, two on the base and two on the display, that make operation clean and easy, even with full hands. The touch-free sensors control the zero, print, tare and calibration operations and helps you avoid transferring sample residue to the keypad. The four sensors can even be set up independently to control up to 36 combinations of operations.

SmarText 2.0 Software Thanks to this special software, you don't have to be a rocket scientist to get this balance working the way you want it to. The SmarText software will guide you through the whole setup process with text prompts. After you have your scale all set up, the software will even guide you through different weighing applications.

Advanced AutoCal™ Automatic Internal Calibration You won't have to worry about buying calibration weights to keep this semi micro balance nice and accurate. This EX225/AD has automatic internal calibration that uses internal weights to calibrate. The EX-225/AD will automatically calibrate with a significant change in temperature, or every 3 hours. This is gonna come in really handy, especially if you don't like maintaining calibration weights or going through the whole calibration process. If you prefer to calibrate it manually, you can still do that too.

Ingenious Draftshield When you're weighing with semi-micro balances like this one, even the tiniest breeze can interfere with weight readings. That's why this Ohaus semi-micro balance comes with a durable, glass windscreen to keep out those pesky drafts. Oh, and don't worry, this balance makes it easy to put your items on, or take them off, the platform. The top flips up and the sides slide all the way back. That's not all! Ohaus designed this draftshield with antistatic coated glass, to help dissipate static charges in the weighing chamber that could affect the weighing results, and a chamber light.

Fast & Accurate With Magnetic Force Restoration This lab balance is equipped with magnetic force restoration, or electro-magnetic force, to provide super fast, accurate and repeatable measurements.

Does This Thing Count? You bet it does! All you need to do is weigh a sample amount of pieces, so the Explorer can know how much each piece weighs, then start counting. You'll be finished in no time.

Average Piece Weight Before you start counting your pieces, you need to let the scale know how much each piece weighs. Ohaus made this simple by averaging the weight of the pieces you put on the platform. Just type in how many pieces you put on the platform, and the EX-225/AD will average the weights. The bigger your sample is, the more accurate the scale will be when counting your pieces.

Programmable Auto Printing Feature This lab balance will automatically print your data for ya! Just tell the scale to continuously send data to the printer, to send it at user selectable intervals, when the balance is stable, or to only send it when you press the print key. That's pretty handy, right?

Filling This feature can be used to accurately fill samples in comparison with a target weight. Just set your target weight by either weighing a filled sample or keying in your desired weight. Once your target weight is set, you may begin filling. The EX225/AD will display the target weight, difference weight, and difference percentage. There's even a progress bar on the display.

Dynamic Weighing This semi-micro balance has a really cool dynamic weighing feature. This feature allows you to accurately weigh unstable items by calculating the average weight of what's on the platform. Great for animal weighing.

Checkweighing Make sure you get your weights just right with this scientific balance's check weighing feature. When you weigh in this mode, you can set weight limits for the stuff you're weighing. So, if your sample weight is too low or too high, the scale will surely let you know.

Percent Weighing This feature will let you compare the weights of your samples against a predetermined reference weight. This can be helpful in weight checking, compounding, formulating and more.

Totalization You can use this accumulation feature to weigh a sequence of items together. This is a great feature if you need a balance with cumulative weighing for compounding ingredients. It's even okay if your accumulated totals exceed the scales capacity.

Differential Weighing This process will store tare and weight values for comparison with samples to be dried or processed. You may store up to 99 different samples by name for future use.

Formulation Use this feature to accurately measure and compound your formulas. Formulations can be named and stored with two to 99 specified components. Each element in your formulation, as well as, the total weight of all elements are displayed at the bottom of the display. After you've added all of your elements, your formulation is complete.

Density Determination This semi-micro balance has four different ways to determine density. You can determine density for solids more dense than water, solids less dense than water, liquid density, and density for porous materials. All you have to do is enter a couple of parameters into the balance, the built in density table and mass measurement provides rapid and accurate results. No manual calculations needed.

Statistical Quality Control (SQC) This feature is useful for monitoring filling operations to help avoid under filling and over filling. Up to ten batches with up to 80 samples per batch are visible for quality control purposes.

Ingredient Costing If you use this semi-micro balance for lots of formulations, this ingredient costing is going to come in handy. This feature will tell you how much your formulas and recipes cost based on known costs of components and ingredients.

Pipette Adjustment With the Explorer you can even check the accuracy and precision of your pipettes by weight analysis. Just select what liquid you want to test your pipettes with, set up a few parameters and stand back; the balance will do the rest.

Peak Hold This feature allows you to capture the highest weight in a series. Both stable and unstable weights are captured.

RS-232 & USB Ports The EX225/AD Explorer has both RS232 and USB communication ports built in for easy communication with printers, computers, monitors and more.

Stainless Steel Platform This semi-micro balance has a durable stainless steel weighing platform that doesn't scratch easily and will keep its shine without rusting or tarnishing.

Weighing Hook Sometimes the thing you need to weigh just won't fit on the platform. Now that's a problem for most balances, but not this one. This balance has a weighing hook built right into the bottom. This hook works by pulling on the weighing platform when an item is hanging from it, just like if you were to put an item on top of the platform. This will come in handy for density determination, gravity calculation, and a lot more.

Tare Feature The tare button on the front of this digital lab balance can be pressed to "zero out" the weight on the platform. You can then add more weight, and the display will only show the weight of the items you're adding. This sure is useful when you want to use a container to weigh your things.

Illuminated Liquid Level Indicator & QuadraStance™ Thumbwheels To get the most accurate weight readings from this semi-micro balance, Ohaus designed the Explorer with an illuminated liquid level indicator and super easy to use QuadraStance? thumbwheels for adjusting the balance. It even has a level assist screen to help you figure out which foot needs adjusting.

2 YEAR MANUFACTURER'S WARRANTY! When you get the EX225/AD Explorer semi-micro balance, you need to go over to the Ohaus website and register it to receive your two year warranty.
