I bought this scale thinking it would actually work. It doesn't... When I turn it on with the platform empty, it reads 0, however as I weight things, I notice the empty weight creep up over time, after weighing 3-4 items, the scale read 3.4g when empty, and when I added a dime to it, the weight was 3.4g over what it should have been... Also the refresh rate of the display is about once a second, so don't expect any fast measurements out of it, and the weight tends to vary by .2-.3g while the item is being weighed. I've used 2 other centigram scales, and a .1 milligram scale, this is by far the worst I've ever seen, the .1 milligram Ohaus analytical balance without the windscreens provided more stable measurements that this. Definitely go with an Ohaus or Jennings instead of this, the J-Scale is even smaller too.

Bought this to weight coffee shots and it works very well for this purpose. Tares quickly and seems very consistent. Its small and unobtrusive on the kitchen counter, which is great for my needs but may be an issue if someone wants to weight larger objects. Would easily fit in a shirt pocket if one wanted to take it with them. Appears to a very good value for the price and I would purchase again.

My Middle school and High school science classes LOVE these scales. Labs that took 2 or 3 days to complete with triple beam get done in 1 day. I can get a quick lab in because because we are not spending time sliding counter weights. Plus they are easy to store. And here is a joke I use ..."remember students these balances are TARE-able.....as you can use the TARE function"...that gets groans every time.
