I REALLY LIKE THIS SCALE, UNLIKE THE DIGITAL SCALE THAT CHANGES IT MIND EVERY 30 SECONDS.HAD A DOCTORS MODEL WHICH WAS ALSO MECHANICAL. YEARS AGO. DO NOT LIKE HI TECH STUFF. THERE TO FIDGETY. THIS WORKS SIDE BY SIDE, WITH THE DIGITAL. AND IT ALWAYS WRONG. BUT SALTER, IS ALWAYS CORRECT. AND I HAVE 4 FIDGETY DIGITAL ONES. THERE ALL JUNK. HOPES THIS HELP YOU.

Needed a good solid dial type scale for the house, did not want a glass scale that would break when moved or a cheap box store brand. I searched online and found the Salter 916 which was the type I was looking for, so far I am happy with my purchase. I now have a nice reliable scale for the house and would recommend Old Will Knott's, ordering was easy and received my order on time!

Just purchased the scale and the topis plastic popped off. It should be a glass piece covering the numbers with metal to hold the top piece together not plastic. Not what I thought.

I purchased this scale as I needed two things that I could not find anywhere else - A scale that went to a larger number (which there are choices) and easy to read. This product is sturdy, with very easy to read dial. The foot pad is a single piece which I also like as I am older and do not want to feel like I am stepping onto a divided surface. I LOVE IT!! Would recommend to anyone especially the over the 55 group. The setting was very easy and the directions were easy to follow. It shipped super fast which I also love about this company. Great products and fast shipping, lots of choices too! What else could you ask for?
